Personal Branding

I was so excited to work with Julia. I absolutely love her beautiful watercolour designs.

When Julia first got in touch, she knew that she needed some branding photographs that represented her and her brand. She was having a website refresh and wanted to make sure her images didn’t let the side down.

She was nervous about having her photograph taken and wasn’t sure what was required.

We arranged a brand consultation and I asked lots of questions about the business, how it got started, and what was important. We had a cuppa and a chat.

I quickly got a feel for Julia’s personality, and by asking the right questions, I was able to understand who was Julia’s ideal client and where they would find her.

We established the following things as important for the brief:

  • Handmade
  • In Yorkshire
  • Beautiful design
  • Watercolour
  • Images of the lovely workplace

Everything is designed, illustrated and handmade by Julia so it was really important to put Julia at the front of her brand. I know when you’re a maker or a crafter that it’s really easy to hide behind your beautiful products, but with so much competition in the online market now, it’s never been more important for your customers to be able to see and connect with you and your brand.

I also suggest that she consider using Laura, my make up artist for a polished look and we talked about styling and outfits for the session.

Here’s a small selection of the images from the session. I love them and I hope you do too.
